Spaceworks ‘first past the post’ at Glorious Goodwood

During the 29th July-2nd August, the racing fraternity enjoyed flat racing at its best as well as the vast array of hospitality on offer at the Glorious Goodwood Festival 2008.

Spaceworks was proud and once again instrumental in supplying furniture, of the highest quality and specification, to the racecourse and corporate areas for the five day meeting.

Spaceworks goes back in time

Spaceworks Bristol has been awarded the contract to provide period style 1930s furniture, cutlery, crockery, glass and kitchen equipment to the ‘Jazz Age Garden Party’ this August at Westonbirt House, Gloucestershire. Kenza Darley (8 Aug ‘08) Sponsored by Bentley motors, the event features a display of over 100 pre-war vintage motors and an evening jazz concert.

Event organisers Spirit of the Age and Nationwide awarded Spaceworks the contract on the strength of its extensive range of period style furniture. The event celebrates all things 1930’s with everyone dressing in period style costume and official sponsor Bentley will be celebrating the 75th anniversary of its “Derby” range.

The event features a marquee with vintage clothing and art deco for sale, champagne and cocktail bars, a make-over marquee where ladies can have their hair and make up done. Each day will end with a picnic concert in the evening headlined by The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain on Saturday and Claire Teal on Sunday.

Alex Mimmack, Spaceworks Bristol’s General Manager, said: “We are working closely with event organisers to ensure that the event has the right elegance and style to make it feel like something from the Great Gatsby film set. We have a high quality range of specialist furniture to give the whole event the feel of the 1930’s.”

Spaceworks win Sticky Wicket 2008

On Wednesday 30th July, Spaceworks was delighted to enter a team and supply the outdoor furniture for the event industry’s summer big summer day out and fund raiser – Sticky Wicket 2008.

Apart from Sticky Wicket offering a perfect opportunity for companies to take their staff on a day out to enjoy the cricket, networking and sunshine in Regents Park, the prime aim of the day is to raise funds for The Lord’s Taverners charity. This year over £20,000 was raised.

With eight industry companies competing, the Spaceworks team, captained by Senior Events Manager, Stuart Barnett, were victorious and were crowned 2008 winners after an extremely close match against CMPi in the prestigious final.With a host of sporting stars and celebrities representing The Lord’s Taverners, actor Colin Salmon was on hand to present the winners trophy to the elated Spaceworks team.
